About Erin’s Maternity - Newborn - & Baby’s 1st Year Sessions
Erin has training and specializes in newborn photography. Safety of your newborn is her number one concern. Not all newborn photographers are trained in newborn safety and it is an important question to ask when searching for a newborn photographer. To date Erin has photographed over 250 newborns. Her Camp Hill studio even has a special newborn room fully equipped to make sure you and your baby are comfortable during a newborn session.
All sessions include Erin's artistic view, time, editing, expertise, edited images, online gallery, and print release. If you like, she can assist you with ordering prints or you have the freedom to do it yourself. You can expect the best edited images 1 - 2 weeks after your session.

Newborn sessions: Are scheduled within the first 4 - 9 days of your newborn’s life. Erin will have everything needed to capture the first days of your child's life; props included! Family and siblings also included. Erin offers 3 different newborn package to fit every budget and needs please see the price page for more details.
Milestone Portraits Session: This is a 30-60 minute session perfect for maternity, 3, 6, or 9 month sessions.*
First Birthday: This includes a quick family/sibling photo session; next the fun begins with a cake in front of your little one allowing your child to do as they please to capture this very cute moment and lastly we finish up with a splash in a tub!*

Tips for a successful newborn session
Before the baby's birth…
1. Book Erin in advance! Posed newborn portraits are scheduled within the first five to nine days after your baby's birth. Why five to nine? That usually gives time parents to come home from the hospital and after 10 days babies become more aware of their surroundings. Erin typically schedules newborns three to four months before baby's due date and only take a certain amount of newborns each month to ensure scheduling won’t be an issue.
2. Register for Erin Shaffer Photography! As a free service to all her newborn clients Erin offers a baby registry for your baby shower! Informational cards are given to place inside the invitation and your guests can purchase gift cards for ESP in any denomination. A gift that will last way longer then any onesie!
3. Let's talk! Planning is always fun, please share all the details! Is there anything very important that you want included? Do you have any other children you would like to include? What colors or themes are in the baby's room? What colors do you find around your home? Do you prefer more bold colors, pales, or earthy tones? What are your favorite things to do? What are your favorite sports teams? How did you and your partner meet?
4. Make arrangements for siblings! Erin loves to photograph siblings; however, after those photos are done, please make arrangements for a friend or family member to come and take the older child(ren) home. Second, third, or even fourth children are known for being able to sleep through all the noise that other children make but not when she's is asking them to pose. It's just too much for them. So let's make a quiet environment; trust her, they don't want to be quiet for up to three hours anyhow!
